Spring into Second Chances

By Giving List Staff   |   April 3, 2026

Sage Compassion for Animals is dedicated to keeping pets with the families who love them by funding urgent veterinary care when it’s needed most. This spring, through our Spring into Second Chances campaign, we’re working to help 25 pets each month receive life-saving treatment and stay with their families at home where they belong.

As families continue to face economic challenges, applications for assistance have increased by over 40%, making this support more critical than ever. Helping 25 pets each month means raising $30,000 to respond quickly in moments of crisis, so no family has to choose between finances and their pet.

With the support of our veterinary partners and compassionate donors, we can turn emergencies into second chances.

No Pet Left Behind

Over 90% of every donated dollar goes directly to veterinary care, making a life-saving difference for pet families in crisis.

• $2,500 can save the life of a pet, covering an emergency surgery of critical treatment.
• $5,000 enables Sage Compassion for Animals to fund higher-cost procedures – like an orthopedic fracture repair by a specialist.
• $15,000 donated quarterly, enables Sage Compassion for Animals to double the amount of immediate emergency grants available.
