Naima Shalhoub, life coach and trainer at Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth (RJOY), led a somatic healing through music workshop at the RJOY Freedom Circle in May of 2026.  This circle happens every Monday in downtown Oakland at Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth.

The Freedom Circle is a space for freedom, healing, joy and support for those who have been impacted by the carceral system.

What brings me joy is writing poetry, being outdoors, and spending time with people I care about. I’m committed to growth—my own and that of those around me—and always looking for ways to elevate, learn, and give back.

A Helping Hand For Those Living Among Poverty and Violence

Restorative Justice for Oakland Youth’s (RJOY) work thrives on community support. Your contribution can help fund RJOY’s vital “Safe Outside the System” mobile urgent crisis warm line, which is no longer funded after federal cuts. This is a crucial service meeting a critical need for community members in imminent mental health and possible justice-involved crises.
